The Public Procurement Department operates under the Ministry of Finance. The primary mandate of the Department is to arbitrate and award tenders for Federal Government and any other institutions specified under the Public Procurement, Concessions and Disposal Act of 2019 and the delivery of works, services and supplies related services laws. This is coupled with the registration and grading of contractors who are willing to do business with Federal Government.

The aim is to ensure tenders are prudentially managed to ensure value for money in the procurement and disposal of assets. The Department, through the Procurement Portal, renders transparency on public sector procurement, as well as giving assistance, guidance and informs on the Federal Government’s business opportunities
